BORG. On November 25, at Sir Anthony Mamo Oncology Centre, CARMELO of Gżira, residing in Luqa, passed away peacefully at the age of 81, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Salvina, his son Raymond and his wife Louise, his daughter Marvic and her husband Michael, his grandchildren Keith and his girlfriend Annalise, Janice and Carla, his brothers, sister, in-laws, their respective spouses, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 2.30pm for Luqa parish church, were Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 3pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Luqa cemetery. BORG. On November 26, at Dar tal-Kleru, Birkirkara, Fr JOSEPH BORG, SDB, passed away peacefully, aged 95, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his brother Fr Claude Borg in Australia, his nephews Saviour Borg and his wife Dorothy, Henry Borg and John Borg, other relatives and friends. He also leaves to mourn his loss the Salesian community in Malta, of which he was provincial delegate and the Salesian Brigade of which he was chaplain. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 9.15am for St Gregory’s parish church, Sliema, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9.45am, followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

DEMICOLI. On November 24, MATTHEW, aged 17, passed away suddenly. He leaves to mourn his loss his parents Reuben and Muriel and his brother Timmy, his grandparents Jane and Saviour Demicoli and his grandmother Monique Chapelier, his aunt Audrey and her husband Andre Zerafa, his uncle Jean-Christophe and his wife Betty, his cousins Giulia, Noe’ and Abel, his many friends, fellow students, lecturers and staff at Giovanni Curmi Higher Secondary in Naxxar. The funeral cortege leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 1.15pm for Lija Parish Church, where Mass præsente cadavere will be elebrated at 2pm. No flowers by request, but donations to Puttinu Cares would be greatly appreciated.

MINTOFF. On November 25, at Karin Grech Rehabilitation Centre, MARIA, widow of Toni, ex-PC484, of Valletta, aged 91, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Frans and his wife Mary, Raymond and his wife Marisa, Phyllis, widow of her son Joe, Louis, widower of her daughter Maryrose, her sister-in-law Ġuża widow of her brother Paul Agius, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St Luke’s Hospital tomorrow at 7.30am for St Dominic’s parish church, Valletta, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of RW4 Karin Grech Rehabilitation Centre, for their care and dedication towards Maria. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

SPITERI. On November 26, at Sir Anthony Mamo Oncology Centre, CATHERINE née Dalmas, aged 57, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of the Holy Catholic Church and surrounded by her family. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Mario, her daughter Lynn and her fiancé John, her sister Esther and her husband Louis Grixti, her brothers-in-law Joseph and his wife Lina, Martin and his partner Rita and Joseph J. Mifsud, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated tomorrow at 8am at Our Lady of Sorrows parish church, St Paul’s Bay, followed by interment at San Girgor Cemetery, Żejtun. No flowers by request but donations to Hospice Malta, Balzan, will be appreciated.

Tomorrow being the ninth anniversary of the passing away of JACKIE MALLIA, the 7pm Mass at St Patrick’s, Sliema, will be offered for the repose of her soul. The attendance of relatives and friends will be appreciated.

Baħrija shuttle service

A special shuttle service for Baħrija residents has been launched as a temporary measure until the completion of road works in this locality, Malta Public Transport announced.

The daily service will operate from the Rabat interchange between 5.35am and 9.30pm and from Baħrija between 5.45am to 9.45pm.

This service will remain in operation until the completion of the road works, when Route 109 will be resumed.
