My grandfather was a very keen cyclist and he always made it a point to send a postcard to my grandmother from wherever he had been. She kept all these postcards in albums.

These were eventually retrieved from my parents’ effects by nieces who returned them to me in Malta. One of these I discovered was sent to my grandfather from a young soldier in hospital in Malta. The date on the card is November 1914, so 100 years later it found its way back to Malta.

I don’t know if part of the picture shows the old hospital, maybe one of the readers would know.
