Three Premier League players were sanctioned by the Malta FA Disciplinary Commissioner yesterday following last weekend’s games.

The worst hit was Tarxien defender Ebiabowei Baker who was slapped with a two-match ban.

The Nigerian was shown a straight red card for a reckless tackle on Sliema Wanderers forward Kerlon in the second half of Friday’s game which Tarxien won 3-2.

Naxxar Lions will be without two players for their match against Balzan on Tuesday after captain Angus Buhagiar and defender Moises Gne-negbe were handed a one-match ban.

Buhagiar was disciplined after being dismissed for two yellow cards in the second half of the Lions’ 2-2 draw against Birkirkara on Saturday while Gnenegbe was suspended after he collected his fourth booking.
