Art Discussion Group is inviting artist Joseph Muscat and ceramist Deborah Zarb Marmarà for a meeting being held at Misco’s office in Fino Building, Notabile Road, Mrieħel, today at 7.30pm.

The artists will answer questions about vision, concept and technique and discuss aspects of some of their work.

Muscat’s wisdom is the result of life’s experience which he has exploited to the full. He is a rare bird, quiet, unassuming, calm and gentle. For Muscat ‘the act of creation involves two basic tenets: that a thing of beauty is a joy forever (Keats), and that generally it is emotion recollected in tranquillity (Wordsworth). My paintings are the result of a search for beauty. The inspiration is that moment of joy when I unexpectedly come upon a beautiful sight’.

The artist seeks to capture harmony and the music in nature.

Zarb Marmarà regards clay as a versatile material, messy but simple, malleable but strong. These contrasting and conflicting elements make clay so appealing and in tune to one’s feelings and soul.

She specialises in one-off pieces and lately is focused on mural and sculpture work.

Both artists will be sharing their work and answer questions on aesthetics and technique.
