The Christmas Market at San Anton School is in full swing giving families the opportunity for a festive fun day out with a difference.

Stalls selling traditional decorations, gift-wrapping, home-accessories, giftware, jewellery, wooden toys, advent calendars, poinsettias and hollies, chocolates, children’s gifts, toys, gourmet foods and festive treats abound.

Children, some of whom wearing nativity costumes, are meeting the “real” Santa Claus in his Grotto but the main attraction is a ‘live crib’ in a purposely built wooden stable in the picnic area.

The stable also is housing live animals to depict a typical nativity scene.

Children visiting the market may also listen to stories and poetry, write their letter to Santa, and participate in Christmas art and craft and baking workshops.

The cast of Robin Hood and the Babes in the Woods – the traditional Christmas panto by FM Theatre Productions, will be visiting the market in the afternoon.

Entrance to the market, open until 5pm, is free. A free shuttle minibus service from the Zebbiegh Church is available. Parking is also available at the San Andrea Car Park next door.
