A total of €210,000 was spent promoting Gozo via publications, TV spots, articles, blogs and the setting up of a booking portal as part of a project entitled ‘Island of Gozo: A unique destination for all’.

The project included drafting a marketing plan for Gozo, which was presented to local stakeholders. It aims to achieve higher rates of economic returns from the tourism industry while safeguarding the island’s attractiveness as a destination.

It was co-financed by the EU’s European Agricultural Fund for rural development and organised by the Gozo Tourism Association, in collaboration with the Tourism Ministry and Malta Tourism Authority.

The project activities were presented at a business breakfast at the Grand Hotel, Għajnsielem, addressed by Tourism Minister Edward Zammit Lewis, Gozo Minister Anton Refalo, GTA chairman Paul Scicluna, GTA secretary Joe Muscat and MTA CEO Paul Bugeja.
