The Point Shopping Mall will, for the first time in Malta, host Black Friday – a day of sales on the last Friday of this month.

Black Friday abroad is the busiest shopping day of the year. It started in the US in the early 2000s and falls on the day after Thanksgiving. The online shopping revolution eventually shipped Black Friday across the Atlantic, where year after year UK retailers enthusiastically embraced Black Friday, becoming more widespread as more retailers joined in.

“Black Friday abroad kicks off the Christmas shopping season, and we are hoping to get this tradition rolling here too. Through this initiative, The Point customers will benefit from discounted prices on the new collections at most of our stores,” The Point’s marketing manager Ilona Debattista said.

Black Friday will be held on November 27 between 9.30am and 10pm at Tigné Point, Sliema.
