PEMBROKE-0, QORMI-0

Pembroke and Qormi had to settle for a point each after their game ended goalless. The best scoring chances fell to Pembroke who were the better team but a series of good saves from Jean Mathias Vella, the Qormi goalkeeper, and poor finishing denied them the three points.

Pembroke had the better of the first half but they failed to translate their supremacy into goals.

In the early stages, Jean Mattias Vella, the Qormi goalkeeper, blocked a dangerous Ariel Laudisi effort after the Argentine winger had drifted into the box from the left.

Pembroke continued to create the better chances. Close to the 10th minute mark, Paltemio Barbetti played an intelligent pass into the box and in the direction of Bardsley but the latter's attempt was blocked by the Qormi defenders.
Vella was prominent again when saving Laudisi's grounder.

In a rare attack, Qormi had a great chance to open the scoring when Carlo Monti's teasing cross from a corner was met by Noah Ojuola but his header sailed over the crossbar.

Pembroke had another chance at the end of the first half but defender Owen Bugeja was marginally wide with a strong shot.

The second half brought no change in the pattern of the game as Pembroke remained the better team.

Qormi threatened when Kurt Magro produced a rising shot that ended marginally wide of the far post.

By way of reply, Bardsley headed straight at Vella from Kyle O'Brien's cross. Pembroke's American striker then produced a surging run that took him into the box but his central shot was easily stopped by Vella.

Qormi were dangerous from a set-piece as Monti's corner was met by Gauci but he headed over.

The erstwhile subdued Alex Nilsson drove wide after receiving from Leeflang.
The Reds remained the better side but wasted a glorious chance to take the lead.
Leighton Grech, who had just come on for Laudisi, played a good pass to Villalobos who promptly set up Bardsley but the latter rifled wide with only Vella to beat. Laudisi, the Pembroke winger, was named BOV player of the match.
