Elusive II is the winner of the BOV Gozo Regatta, organised by the Royal Malta Yacht Club last weekend

Competing in the IRC Racers 1 Class, Elusive II, also sponsored by BOV, made the most of the stronger winds on Friday to cross the finish line in Gozo in first place.

Skippered by Maya Podesta, the Elusive crew took advantage of the variable conditions throughout the weekend to achieve the overall win.

Geisha, skippered by David Pizzuto, was first in the IRC Racer 1 Class while Lartista, with Anton Calleja at the helm, topped the IRC Cruisers Class.

Alfie Manduca’s Lightning led the way in IRC Racer 2 while Stephanie Jones’s The Happy Return was first in the Cruiser class.

Horace Laudi, Gozo regional manager at Bank of Valletta, and Godwin Zammit, commodore of the Royal Malta Yacht Club, presented Elusive II skipper Podesta with the BOV Gozo Regatta trophy as overall winners.

The class winners also received their prizes during an award ceremony held at the Royal Malta Yacht Club.
