Cleverley: Everton midfielder Tom Cleverley is fit to face former side Aston Villa in the Premier League tomorrow after recovering from ligament damage sustained at the end of August. Cleverley, who spent last season on loan at Villa, had made five appearances for the Merseyside club before picking up the injury that has kept him out for more than two months.

Reus: Marco Reus is set to make his Borussia Dortmund return against Hamburg tonight. The playmaker has been sidelined by an adductor injury which forced him to miss the Revierderby against Schalke and Germany’s clash with France during the international break. However, Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel has confirmed he is fit and raring to return this weekend.

Foulds: Everton have agreed a deal to sign teenage defender Matty Foulds from Bury. The Toffees announced yesterday afternoon that the 17-year-old was set to move to Goodison Park for an undisclosed fee in January. Foulds has made two senior appearances to date, the first coming in August when he came on as a substitute in the Shakers’ Capital One Cup defeat to Leicester.

Garrido: Honduras midfielder Luis Garrido could be out for up to 18 months after suffering a severe knee injury during Tuesday’s World Cup qualifier against Mexico, the team’s doctor said. The Houston Dynamo player damaged ligaments in his right knee which was dislocated when he tackled Javier Aquino and the Mexican player fell on top of him in Mexico’s 2-0 win at San Pedro Sula in Honduras, Oscar Benitez said.

Heidel: Mainz’s general manager Christian Heidel has further distanced himself from reports he is set to become the new director of sport at Schalke next season. Heidel is reported to have been targeted by the Gelsenkirchen club to replace Horst Heldt, who has been told that his contract – which expires in June – will not be renewed. “You can take it from me that every fibre in my body is faithful to Mainz,” Heidel said. “I say that not only because they are my employers, but because my heart is there.”
