There were stiff exchanges during the TimesTalk discussion on Tuesday on what took place in Paceville on Saturday night.

A stampede at PlusOne club left 74 people injured, two of them critically, including a 13-year-old.

It was one of the most serious incidents to happen at Malta's top nightlife venue but many claim it was an accident waiting to happen, amid lax enforcement and aggressive behaviour among many patrons.

The government promised stricter enforcement but cynics say this is a years-long promise which has never been implemented.

The programme participants wer Home Affairs Minister Carm Abela, Opposition deputy leader Beppe Fenech Adami, club owner Mark Grima and Anthony Farrugia from the Paceville Action Group.
