The Aurora Opera House is tomorrow hosting the Leone Band for the annual symphonic concert under the baton of Colin Attard.

In a staple musical event in the annual cultural calendar of the band, the theatre and the Gozitan cultural community, the 80-piece windband is presenting an interesting programme that includes the exquisite suite The Three Elizabeths by John Coates (1944), the celebrated Morning, Noon and Night in Vienna overture by Von Suppe and Jacob de Haan’s Concerto d’Amore.

From its own musical archives, the Leone Band will revive 1565, a symphonic march penned by former Sicilian conductor Giovanni Giumarra. This will be performed on the 450th anniversary of the Great Siege of Malta.

The concert will also feature a selection for band from the most recently performed La Traviata featuring the band and instrumental soloists.

The concert starts at 8.30pm. Doors open at 8pm. Entrance is free of charge.
