Talenti Theatrical Company is staging a farce at the Manoel Theatre next week.

Caught in the Net, Ray Cooney’s sequel to Run for Your Wife, has been adapted for a Maltese audience by Joe Brincat and is being staged in partnership with the Manoel.

The story concerns Joe Borg, a taxi driver. For the last 18 years he has been married to Mary and has a secret lover. One lives in Madliena and the other lives in Għargħur.

However, he is in danger of being discovered when the teenage son of his secret lover communicates with his teen daughter over the internet.

They fall in love chatting and when they find out that their father has the same name and the same job, they decide they have to meet. When Joe discovers about this, chaos ensues in his attempts to keep them apart.

He enlists the aid of his friend, thenot-so-bright Paul Vella who brings along his decrepit father to the rescue. The result is confusion, lies and all sorts of craziness.

This classic farce has all the right ingredients of subterfuge, doors slamming, crazy tricks and slapstick all rolled out at breakneck speed.

Mario Micallef plays the leading role supported by Ron Briffa, Marvic Cordina, Rita Camilleri, Sarah Camilleri, Sean Briffa and Michael Tabone. Direction is in the hands of Peter Busuttil.

• Ir-Raġel Tagħna, Miżżewweġ Magħna! is being staged at the Manoel Theatre on November 27, 28 and at 8pm.
