NBC is launching a month-long free trial of its SeeSo comedy service on December 3. The American commercial broadcast network will start charging its $3.99 monthly fee in January in return for advertisement-free comedy.

One can sign up to be notified when SeeSo is live at NBC's website. The limited number of SeeSo trial memberships will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis.

Users will get on-demand access to NBC's primetime comedy hits like The Office and classic shows including Monty Python (in high definition). Day-after replays of The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon and Late Night with Seth Meyers will be available as well.

The package is similar to other niche video streaming services such as Netflix, Amazon, HBO and Hulu. But SeeSo will have 20 original series.

The originals include Before the Morning After, a late-night comedy show during which comedians get drunk in a diner at 2am and The UCB Show, a weekly variety showcase for best sketch and stand-up. The network is hoping these will help drive subscriptions.

SeeSo will also offer new content every day, including new episodes of originals each week and a few movies per month. Some content will be free in a bid to convert users to paying subscribers.

SeeSo’s trailer above shows some of the classic and original series that will be available on the streaming platform, including Saturday Night Live.
