The famous Moira Orfei who was born and bred in the circus world was found dead by relatives yesterday morning in her family mobile home at Brescia where the circus is holding shows, according to Ansa reports. She would have turned 84 on December 21.

Moira Orfei was the daughter of Riccardo Orfei, a clown, and Violetta Arata, who was also involved in the circus. She lived her life in the shadows of the circus tents and started her career as an acrobat, working on trapeze and in horse shows when she was just six years old.

Moira Orfei also took part in 40 films with famous actors such as Totò, Vittorio Gassman and Marcello Mastroianni.

She will be remembered for her role in Circus Orfei, which was led by her and husband Walter Nones and which has entertained different generations of circus lovers.
