I write in agreement with the letter from a visiting Dutchcouple (‘On the road in Malta’, November 11).

I have visited Malta numerous times during the winter months and it seems that Transport Malta continually fails to adapt its services and learn from mistakes.

Every year the buses during the late afternoon and early evening period (from 3.30 to 7pm) are horrendously overcrowded, causing discomfort and aggression for those on board and frustration for those left standing on a stop when yet another full bus sails past.

Why does Transport Malta not realise the importance of increasing the frequency of services at busy periods of the day? Apart from this one grumble I would like to thank the people of Malta and Gozo for the hospitality and welcome which they offer to myself and thousands of other visitors each year.
