PwC Malta in collaboration with FHRD carried out the first ever Malta HR Pulse Survey to understand what challenges Maltese companies are facing, the priorities they are addressing and what critical areas are being neglected.

The results of the survey will be launched during a seminar, People Challenges and Opportunities – Addressing Your Priorities, organised by PwC in collaboration with FHRD on December 3. Key experts from PwC will lead the sessions addressing the different areas of the survey.

The survey was conducted in September 2015 and participants included organisations of all sizes, ranging from those with less than 10 employees, up to the ones with more than 250 employees, spanning across all sectors.

One of the objectives of the survey was to identify the top three barriers that are affecting the performance of the HR function across organisations, as well as organisations’ top three priorities for the next 12 months.

The HR Pulse Survey also identified the status of HR practices within organisations in Malta in four specific areas: compliance with employment legislation, use of HR technology, use of digital learning and performance management. The survey also assessed the level of compliance in relation to key employment legislation areas.

Global research carried out by PwC provides clear evidence of the importance of people issues to business leaders

The results of some of this global research has highlighted the following challenges: almost three out of every four businesses have concerns about finding the skills they need; and 93 per cent of CEOs are demanding a change to their strategy for managing talent.
