People gathered at the Place de la Republique late yesterday  to mourn the scores who lost their lives in Friday's attacks in Paris.

Crowds laid flowers and lit candles at the foot of the Republique statue in a sign of solidarity, as the French capital tried to come to terms with the worst terrorist attack in Europe since the Madrid train bombings in 2004.

One passerby, Gillian, who was in Paris on a business trip, came to lend her support to the Parisians. She said she wanted help the healing process begin to move forward peacefully, without hate.

According to the Paris prosecutor, three teams, including suicide bombers and gunmen, attacked a rock concert, a football stadium and cafes across Paris.
