Birdlife Malta held a day’s outing to Comino for a group of adults that included a visit to Santa Marija Tower and the Santa Marija Gun Battery. The event also included a demonstration at Birdlife’s ringing station at Wied l-Aħmar. Participants were able to see various netted species and the complete bird logging details including weight, measurement and fat content as well as numbered ringing. The day’s netted species included blackbirds (malvizz iswed), robins (pitirross) and chiffchaffs (vjolin tax-xitwa). The process takes no more than three minutes and the birds are released immediately after.
