A seminar entitled ‘Social media and employment – legal implications’ is to be held on Friday at Smart City Malta.
The information seminar is being organised by the Malta Information Technology Law Association (MITLA) and is being supported by Microsoft Malta.
Antonio Ghio and Gege Gatt, president and vice-president of MITLA respectively, explained how this seminar will be touching upon a wide range of legal issues ranging from data protection and privacy, to intellectual property and employment legislation.
“Together with the speakers who have confirmed their active participation, we will be discussing the wide use of such platforms in the workplace and providing the attendees with useful tips, guidelines and information on how to deal with these issues in a practical manner which is compliant with the current legislation.”
The event will also address how businesses can take advantage of certain social media applications while maintaining full control in usage and data content.
One can secure a place at the event by visiting http://www.mitla.org.mt/employment-law. Event tickets are €20 for members, €20 for students who are not MITLA members and €40 for individuals who are not MITLA members.
