A US astronaut played bagpipes on the International Space Station last Saturday as a tribute to a colleague who died.

Astronaut Kjell Lindgren played "Amazing Grace" on a custom-made set of bagpipes. The pipes were made out of plastic making them easier to clean and lighter, reported the BBC.

Lindgren decided to record himself playing the song as part of a video tribute to research scientist Victor Hurst, a former instructor who died last month.
