BORG. On November 9, at Mater Dei Hospital, GONTRAN of Kappara, aged 92, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church after an illness borne with Christian fortitude. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Mary, née Cole, his children Siegfried Borg Cole and his wife Jacqueline, née Rossi, Marina and her husband Alex Mamo, his grandchildren Julian and his wife Therese, née Mifsud, Nicola and her husband Giuseppe Scaltrito, Jessica and Alan, in-laws, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 8am for San Ġwann parish church, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Hospice Malta, Balzan, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

SPITERI. On November 8, JOSEPH MARK, former police superintendent, aged 97, passed away to eternal rest, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved niece Luigia and her husband Charles Camilleri, their sons Frank, Brian and his wife Isabella, Neville, and Christopher and his wife Maria, his brother Henry, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Sunday, November 15 at 2pm for St Lawrence, Collegiate parish church, Vittoriosa, where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 2.30pm, followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord grant him eternal rest.

Lecture postponed

The lecture by Din l-Art Ħelwa, The Submerged Living Assets of the Maltese Islands, by Alan Deidun, which was to be held tomorrow, has been postponed to November 19 at 6.30pm.

Mepa opening hours

The Malta Environment and Planning Authority offices will be open to the public between 7.30am and 3pm until December 22.
