■ The Maltese Dominican province is organising Art Aid, an art exhibition at the Dominican Priory in Rabat, for the fifth consecutive year. The exhibition will be open to the public from November 21 to 29 from 9.30am to 12.30pm and from 4.30 to 7.30pm. Various activities will be held during the week.

Alex Dalli, this year’s special guest artist, will speak about his artwork on November 26 at 7.30pm, and on November 29 there will be a children’s creative corner from 2 to 4pm, to be led by Marilyn Hodgson. Paint will be provided.

Proceeds from this year’s event will be donated to the Maltese Dominican mission in Albania.

■ The band commission of Our Lady of the Lily Band Club of Mqabba is holding its annual lunch in honour of its band master, musicians and helpers today at the Soreda Hotel in Qawra. Mass will be heard at St Francis of Assisi parish church in Qawra at 11am prior to the lunch. Transport will leave Mqabba sqaure at 10am. ■ The nine days of preparation for the feast of the Immaculate Conception in Mqabba will start on November 27 at Mqabba parish church. The recital of the rosary will start at 5.30pm, followed by the kurunella of the Immaculate Conception and a eucharistic celebration. A cantata Mass will be said. The programme will be repeated on all the Novena days, up to December 6, when a procession with the statue of Our Lady of the Lily will leave the parish church at 5pm.

■ Our Lady of the Lily Musical Band Club of Mqabba will be taking part during festivities organised by the Malta Band Clubs Association on the occasion of the feast of St Cecilia, patron of musicians, on Saturday. Mass will be said at 5.30pm at St John’s Co-Cathedral, followed by a band march along Valletta's main streets. The society will be accompanying the march with its band banner.

■ The statue of Our Lady of the Lily will be placed at the centre of Mqabba parish church from November 29 at 10.30am for a fortnight of veneration on the occasion of the feast of the Immaculate Conception celebrated in Mqabba on December 6. For more information visit www.talgilju.com.
