• Sales concluded by telephone have a 14-day cooling-off period.

• The seller must inform consumers that the call is being made for commercial purposes from the very start.

• Sales concluded on the phone must be confirmed in writing.

• Goods bought over the phone are legally guaranteed in the same way as goods bought in a shop.

• Before concluding a sale consumers should make sure they have the details of the seller they are dealing with and should avoid giving their credit card details over the phone.
