Local NGOs have the chance to receive €30,000 in funding from Fundacion Mapfre for development projects related to education, health, nutrition or access to the labour market.

Participating entities may submit projects that have been running for at least a year.

Entities have up to February 2016 to submit their project proposals. These will be put online and a public vote will elect the best five projects. A jury of experts will select the winning project, which will receive up to €30,000 to implement it.

The funding programme, Formando Comunidad, aims to foster comprehensive education, inclusive of children and young people at risk of social exclusion. It currently supports 107 cooperation projects in 23 countries, benefitting 105,000 children and youth suffering from poverty and social exclusion.

Local NGO Equal Partners Foundation has benefitted from the programme for a project called Transdiciplinary Early Intervention aimed to help and improve the quality of life of children under seven who have a disability or growth problem during their early years of life.

Mapfre Middlesea is part of the Mapfre group.
