DEMARCO. On November 4, JOSEPH, aged 85, passed away peacefully to eternal rest, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved children Marise and Patrick Anastasi, Madeleine Cardona, David and Marthese, Angie and Carl Barthet, Christine and Michael Bharwani and Robert and Claire, his beloved grandchildren Michela, Julia, Carla, Zack, Gabriel, Steve, Matthew, Neeraj, Luke, Hannah, Jamie, Sean, Vinay and Mark, his sister Ghita and her husband Donald Pace Bonello, in-laws, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 8.15am for Attard Parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 9am, followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Poor Clares, St Julians, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

Art-aid 2015

For the fifth consecutive year, the Maltese Dominican Province is organising an art exhibition in a vaulted hall at the Dominican Priory in Rabat.

Artists who wish to exhibit paintings, artistic photographs, ceramics or sculptures may request an application form and a copy of the conditions for entry from tessieborg@hotmail.com or download them from https://www.facebook.com/artaidmalta.

The exhibition will be open to the public from Saturday November 21 till Sunday November 29 from 9.30am till 12.30pm and from 4.3 pm till 7.30pm.

Various activities will be held during the week. Alex Dalli, who is this year’s special guest, artist will speak about his artwork on Thursday November 26 at 7.30pm.

On Sunday November 29 there will be a “Children’s Creative Corner” from 2pm till 4pm.

This art hands-on experience workshop will be led by Marilyn Hodgson. Paint will be provided.

All those who visit the exhibition are invited to explore the beauty of the Dominican cloister while artists are invited to paint on site or to take photographs of the Dominican cloister and admire its beauty during the exhibition hours.

Proceeds from this year’s ART-AID event will be donated to the Maltese Dominican Mission in Albania.

Fundraising bike ride

Hospice Malta will be organising a 25-kilometre fundraising bike ride tomorrow.

The bike ride will leave from the Hospice Malta premises in Balzan at 9am for Valletta, Sliema and back.

Participation is against a donation of €10. Registration can be made on the day from 8.30am, via Facebook page Hospice Malta or hospicemalta.org.

All proceeds will go towards the free of charge palliative care services given to patients suffering from cancer and other terminal illnesses, and their families.
