• The statue of St Joseph is on display in the sacristy of St Helen Basilica, Birkirkara, today from 9am to 1pm and from 5 to 7.30pm. The 19th-century wooden polychrome statue, a notable work of art by Vincenzo Dimech (1768-1831), is currently being restored by Atelier del Restauro. The viewing of the statue is being organised with the support of St Helen’s Collegiate Chapter and Għaqda Armar Sant’ Elena to give the public an opportunity to view the work in progress and speak to the conservators.
• Rev. Canon Simon Godfrey will conduct an All Souls service at Ta’ Braxia Cemetery memorial chapel, Pietà, tomorrow at 11am, organised by Din L-Art Ħelwa – Friends of Ta’ Braxia. All are welcome to attend.
• A bazaar will be held from Tuesday to November 11 at St Helen parish centre Birkirkara, daily from 9am to noon and 4.30 to 7.30pm, and on Sunday morning. Items on sale include antiques, collectibles, furniture, home-grown pot plants and bric a brac.
• A jumble sale in aid of Our Lady of Fatima parish church, Guardamangia is being held from 9.30am to noon and 3 to 7pm until November 30 in the parish hall.
• A San Martin buffet lunch in aid of the refurbishment of St Edward’s Flat at Angela House will be held next Sunday at 12.30pm by Lions Club Mdina, at Da Vinci Restaurant, Smart City Malta, Kalkara.
