Michelin-star chef Michael Nizzero was invited to create a dinner menu for a special evening at Ta’ Frenċ restaurant, Gozo, in celebration of the life of the late Ino Attard, patron of the restaurant for over 30 years. The event was hosted by Ino’s wife Mary Grace.
Around 140 diners sat down to a six-course dinner, devised and prepared by Nizzero with chef Mario Schembri and his brigade, including tartare de langoustines aux senteurs d’agrumes, toast Melba et caviar, consommé de volaille champenoise en gelée tiède, truffes d’automne et purée de choux fleur à l’estragon and dos de chevreuil sous croûte de champignons sauvages, purée d’avocats et poivrons confits and jus corsé au cassis.
The dinner was accompanied by a selection of champagnes from the house of Boizel, whose president, Evelyne Roque Boizel was also present.
During the evening, the Ta’ Frenċ family reiterated its commitment to keep alive the tradition, synonymous with Ino’s name, of hosting gastronomic events that bring friends together over good food, wines, champagne and conversation.
All proceeds from the evening were donated to the Oasi Foundation, one of several charities which Ino supported.
