Two short evening introductory courses on marine biology and fisheries and aquaculture will be held from Tuesday to January 7. Lectures will be held between 6 and 8pm, and site visits/fieldwork will be held on Saturdays from 9am to 1pm.

The topics to be covered include general characteristics of the marine environment and the Mediterranean Sea; shore and underwater habitats; marine pollution; fish, cetaceans and turtles; marine conservation; global aquaculture practices; challenges faced by the aquaculture industry; marine fisheries ecology; and fisheries management concepts.

The courses are organised by the University’s Department of Biology and are open to the public.
