Obituary

AGIUS. On October 29, Dr JOSEPH AGIUS, Notary Public, residing at Balzan, aged 93, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his son Dr Antoine Agius and his wife Cecilia, née Sciberras, his daughters Mary Rose and her husband Raymond Polidano, and Pauline and her husband Mr Justice Tonio Mallia, his grandchildren Dr Claudia and Engelbert Muscat, David and Nadine, Christine and Mark Rizzo, and Caroline and Steve, and his great-grandsons Giorgio, Gianluigi, and Colin, his sisters-in-law Sr Cecilia Schembri, Mother Provincial of the Sisters of St Joseph of the Apparition, Mary Schembri, Violet Schembri and Bernardette Schembri, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 1.15pm for St George’s parish church, Qormi, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment in the family grave at the Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Missionary Society of St Paul, Rabat, will be greatly appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

GAUCI BORDA. On October 30, at Sir Anthony Mamo Oncology Centre, HENRY, aged 64, passed away peacefully to eternal rest, comforted by the rites of Holy Church and surrounded by his family. He leaves to mourn his irreparable loss his beloved wife Gillian, née Grima, his three sons, Adrian and his wife Claire, Ian and his wife Roberta and James and his wife Alina, his treasured grandchildren Andrew, Michaela, Ella, Jacques and Maya, his beloved mother Inez, née Medati, his brothers and sisters, Marie, Nadette, Margaret, Tony and Franco and their respective families, his sisters-in-law, their husbands, nephews and nieces and numerous friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 2.15pm for Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish church, Balluta, St Julians, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 3pm, followed by interment in the family grave at St Gregory’s cemetery, Żejtun. No flowers by request but donations to Hospice Malta, Balzan, will be greatly appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

SAID PULLICINO. On October 30, at home in Sydney, Australia, ANTOINE, aged 77, passed away peacefully after a long illness borne with Christian fortitude, surrounded by his loving wife Jane, his children John Paul, Rachel and Rebecca, their respective spouses and his five adored grandchildren. He also leaves to mourn his loss his brothers and sisters and their families, other relatives and numerous friends in Malta and Australia. A Mass for the repose of his soul will be said on Tuesday, November 3 at 6.30pm at Stella Maris parish church, Sliema. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

A jumble sale in aid of Fatima parish church in Guardamangia is being held at the parish hall until November 30 from 9.30am to noon and from 3 to 7pm.
