The government is waiting for the Attorney General’s advice on the National Audit report which found irregularities in the lease of part of the GWU property to ARMS Ltd before taking a position, Prime Minister Joseph Muscat said this morning.

Dr Muscat was speaking during the inauguration of the restored Fort St Angelo this morning, part of which is being used for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.

Dr Muscat said there were conflicting legal arguments on the matter and the decisions that had to be taken as a result of the National Audit report could have other repercussions as other leases might be affected.

The Prime Minister referred to claims in Malta Today that businessman Joe Gaffarena refused money for a second-hand car that former health minister Joe Cassar acquired and said that the Opposition had double standards when it came to these matters.
