I refer to Lawrence Zammit’s ‘When state should intervene’ (October 23) and to Karm Farrugia’s similar letter on the subject of traffic congestion.

The CVA system in Valletta was not created to fatten the government’s pockets but to control the flow of traffic.

A CVA system should be devised for all towns and villages in Malta and Gozo for the same purpose and linked with free buses at different times of the day and night, and days of the week.

This would be a properly designed system coupled with underground parking space like the one in Heidelberg for places like Sliema, and overground parking like the one outside Zurich airport for other towns and villages.

In this way I reckon traffic would get much much better.
