During the cooling-off period consumers can change their mind, cancel the sale and claim back the money paid.

Consumers must be informed that they have to pay for the return of goods if they decide to cancel the sale. If not these costs must be paid by the trader.

When returning unwanted goods consumers must take all the necessary precautions so that the items do not get damaged on the way to the seller.

Consumers must cancel the sale within the 14-day time limit and must do it in writing so they have proof of cancellation.

Once a distance or off-premises sale is cancelled, consumers must be refunded their money within 14 days.
