Back to the Future actor Michael J. Fox is one of the first people to try on the new self-lacing Nike sneakers. The shoes were invented by the writers of the cult film Back To The Future II in which Fox played Marty McFly.

The Michael J. Fox Foundation, an initiative that helps Parkinson patients, put a short video online of Fox testing the shoes. He received the Nikes from Tinker Hatfield, the designer of the original film shoes.

Next spring, there will be a limited sale of the shoes. The income will go directly to the Michael J. Fox Foundation.

Yesterday, film fans from all over the world celebrated Back To The Future Day. In the second part of the franchise Marty McFly time travelled from 1989 to October 21, 2015.
