The Prime Minister showed a lot of bluff but no substance on the issues that affected people's lives during this evening's speech, Opposition leader Simon Busuttil said.

Addressing a press conference, Dr Busuttil said Joseph Muscat had given an aggressive speech, which did not include any new economic sectors the government would be creating.

"We still did not hear any economic vision," he said.

The Prime Minister, he said, had also ignored the Opposition's call to reduce electricity bills. Nor did Dr Muscat mention the environment, which was under attack, he added.

There were no solutions for traffic. And Dr Muscat did not reply to any of the scandals uncovered over the legislature.

"In a two hour speech, lacking in humility, there was a lot of hard headedness," Dr Busuttil said.

Dr Muscat's speech, he said, was a reaction to his own, which showed the validity of the Opposition.

Dr Busuttil did not take any questions.
