CASSAR. On October 17, at St Vincent de Paul residence, CHARLIE, aged 82, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Helen née Berry, his daughter Marthese and her husband Noel, her son Wilfred and his wife Graziella, his daughter Josianne and her husband Kenneth, his grandchildren Ryan and Ian, Roberto and Andrea, Emily, Lara and Eric, brothers and sisters and their families, in-laws and their families, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St Vincent de Paul today for St Peter’s parish church, Birżebbuġa, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2.30pm, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to St Joseph Home, Santa Venera, will be appreciated.
DEGIORGIO AQUILINA. On October 17, at Mater Dei Hospital, CARMELINA, aged 97, née Catania, widow of Mariano, proprietor of the former Cumberland Hotel in Valletta, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved children Alfred and his wife Moyra née Borg Testaferrata, and Joseph, widower of Isabel née Walker, her grandchildren Krista and her husband Josef, Nicky and her husband Trevor, her great-grandchildren Luca, Adam and Sebastian, nephews, niece and friends. Mass praesente cadavere will be said tomorrow at 2.30pm at the Annunciation of Our Lady parish church, Balzan, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Special thanks go to the staff at Casa Antonia and to the medical/nursing staff of Med. Ward 2 at Mater Dei Hospital for their care and dedication. Lord, grant her eternal rest.
GUESRY. It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Dr PIERRE RENE EDOUARD GUESRY, French national and resident of Tal-Ibraġ. Pierre died on Monday early morning at Mater Dei Hospital following a protracted illness. He is mourned by his partner Laura Lejman, sons, sister and stepdaughter who will hold a short blessing at Mater Dei Hospital mortuary in the chapel on October 20 at 9am before he is laid to rest with a sea burial for family only. Refreshments will also be served at the apartment between 3 and 5pm, with all neighbours and friends welcome. Pierre will live on through his charitable legacy, The Arnaud Guesry Foundation.
MICALLEF. On OCTOBER 16, at Mater Dei Hospital, ANNUNZIATA, aged 87, of Valletta, residing in Cospicua, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Ċettina and her partner Raymond, Lawrence and his partner Simone, her grandchildren Carl’Isaac, Leanne, Annalise, Tiziana and Ismael and their respective spouses, her great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 1.45pm for the Immaculate Conception church in Cospicua, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30pm followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

DOROTHY MAY ALBAN-DAVIES, née Dyke, also known as Mrs Davies, of Ta’ Xbiex Seafront, Msida, passed away on July 21, 2015. Family and friends are invited to a service at Casa Antonia, Balzan, on Thursday at 10am to remember and reflect on her life. Some refreshments will be offered before the family move to scatter her ashes privately at sea.
