A man was charged with breaking the conditions of his bail today after he called the police to say he was going to kill his under age daughter’s 30-year-old boyfriend.

Jesmond Azzopardi, who is facing separate court proceedings for threatening his daughter with a kitchen knife, pleaded not guilty to breaching the conditions of his bail by committing a crime.

Mr Azzopardi claims that his daughter has been forced into prostitution by her boyfriend, who is acting as her pimp.

Defence lawyer Toni Abela said his client had not made the threat to anyone but had simply called the police.

The prosecution on the other hand said that the man posed a danger to his daughter and her boyfriend.

Bail was maintained.
