Can someone at Malta Public Transport please enlighten us residents of St Paul’s Bay about when the bus service is going to improve? We do not have a route that either starts or finishes here and because of this the buses are packed and often drive past the bus stops without stopping.

I recently met up with two pensioners who were trying to get to Mater Dei – five buses had passed by. Most services start at Ċirkewwa so by the time a bus reaches us the people on board are packed like sardines.

Getting back home, the journey is just as bad if not worse. Last week I tried to board abus home from Birkirkara. Iwas at the stop at 6pm. Buses 45 and 42 passed by without stopping (full up) at 6.20pm, 6.25pm and 6.45pm.

When no other buses showed up I decided to try a different route and got a bus to Naxxar. I then had to walk some distance and wait again until I finally boarded the 45 at approximately 7.15pm. I arrived home at 7.40pm – it had taken me an hour and 45 minutes!

Now, with extra buses supposedly on the road, is it possible to have a bus or two every hour that starts its journey from St Paul’s Bay? The roundabout at the Olympic garden would be an ideal place for the bus to turn. Is it too much to ask or are we to remain the forgotten town?

While I am having a moan, can we have an airport bus too? There is no airport bus that passes through the town despite the fact that there are plenty of tourists in the area.

Would it be possible for the X3 to do the route of the 12 and45 buses and drive to Buġibba that way?
