The Budget’s priorities of fiscal consolidation, strong economic growth and better living standards were similar to its own, the Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry said.

In its reaction to the budget, it welcomed the efforts being made in the area of better regulation.

It positively noted the newly-announced programmes for businesses and the furthering of private, public, partnerships in the health care sector, for the upkeep of industrial zones, tourist areas and parking facilities in Mosta and Marsascala.

It welcomed initiatives in the fields of transport and infrastructure and hoped these fit within a holistic masterplan which it proposed.

It expressed disappointment that the Budget lacked measures to address further lowering of energy tariffs for business.
