Speaker Anġlu Farrugia gives his frank opinion on MPs' declaration of assets submitted to Parliament in an interview with The Sunday Times of Malta.

He also discusses his own and MPs’ travels saying he has instructed all parliamentarians travelling on House business to use low-cost airlines or travel in economy class.

The newspaper  also features a graphic highlighting the number of travels by globetrotting MPs. The Speaker also talks about his relationship with the Prime Minister and the Opposition, saying he “works with everyone” and does not rule out a return to active politics.

Dr Farrugia was forced to resign as Labour deputy leader just weeks before the 2013 general election.
