Johannsson: Werder Bremen forward Aron Johannsson has been ruled out for an undefined period of time due to a nerve problem in his right hip. The United States international has been referred to a specialist in Berlin to receive “conservative treatment” which the Bundesliga club hope will resolve the problem without the need for an operation. Johannsson arrived from AZ Alkmaar in the summer and has played six times in the Bundesliga, scoring twice.

Jovetic: Inter striker Stevan Jovetic will probably miss Montenegro’s Euro 2016 qualifier against Austria today as his injury trouble still hasn’t improved. The 25-year-old reported for international duty in spite of a dubious physical conditions, prompting speculation of a rift between the player and his club. Jovetic did not train with the rest of the Montenegro team, and only did a little bit of running, as his condition is still far from match-ready.

Gladbach list: Borussia Monchengladbach are reported to have whittled down their list of candidates to replace Lucien Favre as their coach to two names. Current Austria coach Marcel Koller is Gladbach’s number one target, according to reports. However, having guided Austria to Euro 2016, he is expected to remain in charge of his country at least until after next summer’s tournament. Grasshoppers coach Pierluigi Tami is also believed to be in the running.

Ferrari: Bologna defender Alex Ferrari will be out of the game for at least two weeks after sustaining a muscular injury during their match against Juventus last weekend. “The examinations that Alex Ferrari underwent this week revealed a first-degree lesion to the muscle of his right thigh,” a Bologna statement said. “The expected recovery time is approximately two weeks.”

Pogba: Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba was ruled out of France’s friendlies with an ankle injury. Pogba sprained his right ankle in training on Wednesday and Les Bleus coach Didier Deschamps subsequently allowed him to return to Juve after a scan confirmed the injury. France played Armenia in Nice last night and travel to Copenhagen to face Denmark on Sunday.
