AZZOPARDI. On October 5, at Mater Dei Hospital, ROSARIA, of Għaxaq, aged 72, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of the Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Nazzareno, her children Fr Lino, Joseph and his wife Christine, Raymond and his wife Antonella, grandchildren Rianne Maria, Veronique, Ismael and Maverick, her brothers and sisters Sr Bernarda, George, Mario, Żeppi and Benna, her in-laws, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 2pm, for St Mary parish church Għaxaq, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30pm followed by interment in the family grave at Tal-Erwieħ Cemetery, Tarxien. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.
DEGUARA. On October 4, FR VINCENT, of Paola, aged 78, passed away peacefully at Id-Dar tal-Kleru, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved sister Mary and her husband Reno Giordmaina, his nephew Joseph, his nieces Maria and husband Joseph, Ruth and husband Aldo and their respective children. The funeral leaves Id-Dar tal-Kleru today at 10 am for the Chapel of the Girls’ Museum where he will be lying in state until 1.30pm for people to pay their last respects. Afterwards a cortege leaves for Christ the King Paola Parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2pm followed by interment in the family grave at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. PODESTA. On October 4, ARTHUR E. at the age of 70, passed peacefully away at home, surrounded by his beloved family and comforted by the rites of Holy Church, after an illness bravely borne with Christian fortitude. He leaves to mourn his irreparable loss his treasured wife Kristine, née Pace, his precious children Maya and Sean, Aaron and his wife Mikela, Christoph and Daphne, his darling mother Laura, his dearest sister Patricia and her husband Chevalier William A. Cassar Torreggiani, his in-laws Rachel and Adrian Zammit Tabona, Ian Pace and Mandy, James and Margaret Pace, Malcolm Pace, his nieces and nephews, other relatives, friends, and the sailing community. Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated tomorrow at St John of the Cross parish church, Ta’ Xbiex, at 2pm. No flowers by request, but donations to Hospice Malta or Malta Community Chest Fund will be greatly appreciated. Merciful Lord, grant him eternal rest as he sails on.
TONNA. On October 4, VICTOR, of Sliema, aged 94, widower of Mary née Gatt, passed peacefully away at his residence. He leaves to mourn his loss his children Veronica and her husband Daniel Gomes, David and his wife Danielle, Philip, Julian and his wife Anita, his grandchildren Lisa, Stephan and his wife Julie, Sarah and Michael, his sister Diana Mackintosh, his in-laws Rosemary Cook, Lena Brook, Margaret Manduca, Henry Gatt and his wife Maria, his cousin Frank Laferla and his wife Rosalyn, his devoted carer Perla, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8am for Tal-Karmnu, Balluta parish church, St Julians, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery.
