A video made by Scouts South Africa emphasising the importance of First Aid advert has become a viral hit gaining more almost three million since it was first uploaded on August 24, 2015.

The advert was made in collaboration with Not Norm Ad Agency and Velocity Films to promote idea of teaching first aid.

The idea for the advert first came from Executive Creative Director, Gavin Whitfield from the advertising Agency Not Norm.

Whitefield told Reuters that during on one of the meetings with Scouts it occurred to him how many things he knows he learned in his youth like riding his bike or catching a ball that are 'programmed into our brains' and become instinct.

He also said that it reminded him that the 'scouts teach children a number of useful things' very early on.

Whitfield said "If children learn these things young they'll remember them forever..."

Scouts South Africa was established in 1908 by Lord Baden Powell and has been an independent, non-political, non-governmental and non-profit organisation ever since.
