A DJ on Radio 101 has been dismissed after inappropriate comments he made on social media following yesterday's charity even motor crash.

Media.link, the media house of the Nationalist Party, said that following the comments, the management felt it should stop DJ Lito from continuing to present programmes on Radio 101.

The management expressed its solidarity with the victims of yesterday's incident.

The DJ yesterday deleted his comments and apologised.

His comments were in the sense that the government should replace the George Cross on the Maltese flag with the best selfie taken yesterday, and this should be declared a national day. He also described the event as ‘Ifqghani ghall-Istrina'.

He had also commented that only six were injured, while people were dying all around Malta.

The comments drew a barrage of criticism on his Facebook page.
