Gozitan saxophonist Philip Attard has graduated with a Master of Music with distinction from the Royal College of Music in London, specialising in saxophone performance.

During his studies at the RCM, Attard received various awards, including the Edward and Helen Hague Senior Woodwind Prize, and participated in the Jane Melber Saxophone Competition, the Douglas Whittaker Woodwind Chamber Music Competition and the RCM Concerto Competition, being awarded the 2014/2015 Savage Club Prize for the most imaginative and individual concerto performance.

Following an audition for the Tillett Trust’s Young Artists’ Platform, Attard will be making his debut at Wigmore Hall in December. Other forthcoming engagements include a performance at St John Smith Square as a Park Lane Group Artist and concerts in Scotland as a Tunnell Trust Artist.

Attard was supported by the Malta Arts Scholarship Scheme and the Janatha Stubbs Foundation.
