A new viewing point has been built over an aqueduct built in the 1880s that runs from Għar Ilma cave in Santa Luċija to the Capuchin convent in Victoria. HSBC Bank Malta donated €5,700 towards the project as part of its Catch the Drop water conservation campaign. During summer, hundreds of Skolasajf students toured the heritage site. HSBC Malta water programme coordinator Glenn Bugeja said: “We hope that by visiting Għar Ilma, they will develop a renewed sense of appreciation for water when they learn how our ancestors used to harvest water as a precious resource.”
