Malta-based experimental photographer and visual artist Ritty Tacsum is currently travelling through Taiwan in order to produce a new body of work which will marry the diverse Asian and Mediterranean cultures and peoples.

The new series of site- and space-specific images will be shown at the National Cheng Kung University in Tainan, where she has been invited to hold a solo exhibition in September 2016.

This is not her first time visiting Taiwan. In 2013 she participated in the collective international show, Post-Humanist Desire, held at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Taipei and curated by Ming Turner.

Following this show, Turner invited Tacsum to exhibit at the NCKU in Taiwan. The images for this show are still work in progress. However, both the artist as well as the curator’s main areas of research is sexuality and androgyny.

Tacsum is supported by Emirates Airlines.
