World soprano Elena Mosuc will be leading the cast for the 2015 production of La Traviata, taking on the role of Violetta for the Aurora Opera House production. Mosuc will toast the most famous brindisi of all, with Stefano Pop, who will feature in the role of Alfredo. Household name Marzio Giossi returns to the Aurora as Giorgio Germont.

Fresh from resounding La Traviata successes at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Bavarian State Opera, the Verona Arena and the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Mosuc is due to appear again as Violetta Valery in Berlin in 2016 after her Malta debut.

All great opera houses, theatre masters and orchestra directors feature prominently on her curriculum, as they do on Romanian-born tenor’s Stefano Pop’s track record.

Despite his young age, Pop has already appeared at Royal Opera House Covent Garden, La Scala (Milan), the Wiener Staatsoper and other keynote houses in Germany, Tel Aviv, Zurich, Italy, Moscow and St Petersburg.

Colin Attard leads an international cast, supported by the Aurora Opera Chorus and the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra. A number of seats in the upper tiers have just been released for sale for the performance.

La Traviata takes place on October 17 at the Aurora Theatre, Victoria, at 7.30pm. Ferry and shuttle transport arrangements will be announced in due course. Tickets are available online or by calling on 7904 5779.
