The commemoration of the 135th anniversary of the foundation of Partit Nazzjonalista could not have been organised in a more fitting place than in the spaces created by Renzo Piano, another PN project.
As Rosette Thake had said when announcing the event, these open spaces symbolisea PN open to the people. From this aspect, people responded wholeheartedly for the meeting held on the 51st anniversaryof Independence.
They met close to the parliament building, reminding us of democracy which was equally saved by the PN led by Eddie Fenech Adami in the 1980s. This was followed by numerous achievements for this country and its people including EU membership, leading to a better quality of life for all.
In 2015 - after an overwhelming majority had voted for change in 2013 – more and more people are turning to the PN hoping for a better future with the transparency and dignity a people deserve. They are gradually but surely grasping the difference between honesty and ambiguity. They know they can trust the credibility of Simon Busuttil when he says that the PN will deliver the change Labour failed to bring about.
David Thake was very correct when – in another Piano space in the shade of the church of Our Lady of Victory, built on the site of the foundation stone of Valletta – he referred to the victory the people are expecting the PN to make in their name in a couple of years’ time.
They are placing their hope for a better life – characterised by openness, dignity and highest standards across the board – under the PN, the party synonymous with tangible results over the years.
