Mosta wing-back Dyson Falzon was handed a two-match ban yesterday following his red card in the Blues’ 3-1 defeat to Balzan last Sunday.

Falzon was shown a straight red card by referee Andre Arciola for a reckless challenge on Balzan midfielder Luke Sciberras in the dying stages of the game.

The two-match ban rules Falzon out of Mosta’s next game against champions Hibernians on Sunday and the derby against Naxxar Lions after the international break.

Hibs will be without Andrei Agius for their encounter with Mosta after the Malta defender received a one-match ban following his dismissal for two bookings in the one-all draw against Pembroke Athleta.

Romeu Romao, sent off for blocking a goalbound effort with his hands during Valletta’s 3-1 victory over Naxxar Lions on Sunday, was also suspended for one game. The Brazilian right-back will miss Valletta’s meeting with Tarxien Rainbows on Saturday.
